Medicare Plan Review Questions

When can I change my Medicare plan?

The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs October 15 through December 7 each year. During this time, you can switch Medicare Advantage plans, change Part D drug plans, or move between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Changes take effect January 1. There’s also an Open Enrollment Period (January 1-March 31) for Medicare Advantage members to make one change.

Can I switch from Medicare Advantage back to Original Medicare?

Yes, during the Annual Enrollment Period you can drop your Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare. However, if you want a Medigap (Supplement) policy, you may need to answer health questions and could be denied or charged more unless you have a guaranteed issue right. Will I lose coverage if I switch plans?

No — when you enroll in a new plan during AEP, your current coverage continues through December 31, and your new plan automatically starts January 1. There’s no gap in coverage. We handle all the paperwork to ensure a smooth transition.

How do I know if a better plan is available?
